KDramaSays is an English-language home for global K-drama and
K-pop fans who want to understand the Korean they hear — but rarely find in a
textbook.
Our Story
KDramaSays grew out of a simple frustration: watching a K-drama or an idol’s
livestream and hearing a word — 킹받다, 대박,
밀당 — that no formal Korean class ever taught, and no dictionary
quite captured. Real, everyday Korean slang moves faster than textbooks can keep
up, and it’s often exactly the vocabulary fans most want to understand: the
inside jokes, the dating drama, the fandom lingo shouted in comment sections
around the world.
So we started writing it down — plainly, accurately, and with the pronunciation
and cultural context that make it actually usable, not just memorized.
What We Do
- Korean Slang Explained — everyday expressions Koreans actually use, decoded for English speakers.
- K-pop Fandom Slang — the vocabulary of stan culture, comebacks, and fan communities.
- K-Drama Slang — the industry and story terms that come up when you binge-watch and discuss your favorite shows.
- Korean Dating Slang — the terms behind K-drama romance tropes and real Korean dating culture.
Who We’re For
Whether you’re a casual K-drama viewer, a dedicated K-pop stan, or someone
seriously studying Korean, KDramaSays is built to make real spoken Korean feel a
little less like a mystery — one expression at a time.
